Whether you’re a Beatles fan, music lover, an avid gamer, or just enjoy pop culture, the new Beatles Rock Band game is perfect. With this new announcement, I am hoping the Beatles will have a new surge of fans that love and respect the classic rock n’ roll band, but at the very least, I’m sure this game will bring them back into the hearts and minds of music lovers around the world.
The game officially goes on sale September 9th, and is projected to sell up to 2 million copies in the first month alone. The Beatles: Rock Band is developed by Karmonix Music Systems and published by Viacom In’c MTV Games and distributed by Electronic Arts Inc. Apparently the game is getting some good reviews too. The New York Times says, “With all due respect to Wii Sports, no video game has ever brought more parents together with their teenage and adult children than ‘The Beatles: Rock Band’ likely will in the months and years to come.”
Personally, as a Beatles fan, I think this is great news. I am excited to see which songs they chose for the track list. The question is - How am I going to afford it? My Nintendo Wii is broken (I am pretty sure my dog has something to do with this) and I haven’t had much extra money. However, I think this would be a smart purchase for our household, because it will help me give my kids a new way of being exposed to the classic rock n’ roll with which I grew up. Maybe my kids will even start jamming to the “White Album” or “Revolver” someday.
With credit cards maxed and all extra income going to the kids school supplies last month, I have to try new territories for obtaining a loan.
